New Patients

Your First Visit to Acupuncture in Nature

As a new patient are asked to wear comfortable and loose fit clothing and arrive 15-20 minutes before your scheduled appointment. This is to fill out the necessary paperwork. You can by-pass this process by downloading the Case Review Questionnaire and bring with you the completed forms to your appointment. We will begin by discussing your main health concerns and associated symptoms. Your treatment plan is a deliberate and individually designed process, which may take up to 90 minutes.

First we will perform a full and confidential intake which will consist of a series of questions. I will feel your pulse and look at your tongue. In Chinese Medicine, these are windows into the body that reveal the root cause of your health concerns. This new information will be compiled to make a “Differential Diagnosis” and formulate a “Treatment Plan.” I will give my honest medical opinion about the length of treatment required and the type of treatment that will be used to improve your current condition.

IMG_1807Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine are the most common treatment strategies used to improve your current health condition, this may include: cupping, electrical stimulation, moxibustion, and tuina massage. Additionally, nutritional, exercise and wellness counseling may also be incorporated as part of your treatment. Acupuncture gains the most effective results through cumulative and frequent treatments. My role as licensed acupuncturist is to help you reduce & eliminate imbalances that cause disruption and discomfort in your life through a course of consistent treatments.

Based on a diagnosis and a treatment plan, a group of acupuncture points will be selected specifically designed to improve your current condition. After all the needles are inserted and you feel comfortable, I will step out of the room. The clinic atmosphere has a very nurturing feel. Heated beds and blankets are provided to make your experience most comfortable. Depending on your current condition, you will be in the room between 40-60 minutes. After your allotted time, I will enter the treatment room and remove the needles. This initial intake and treatment may take up to 90 minutes. Subsequent treatments will last approximately 50 minutes.

Finally, you will meet me at the front desk where payment for services will be made and where your next appointment will be scheduled. If an herbal formula is recommended to accompany your treatment protocol, you will be notified when it is ready to be picked up. We look forward to helping you improve your current health condition.
